Basketball Position Development and Camps

At Compass Sports Performance, our position-specific basketball training and variety of camps are designed to develop complete, confident, and game-ready athletes. Each offering provides focused sessions—or multi-day camp formats—that target the unique demands of every position, from ball-handling guards to dominant bigs. Athletes build advanced skills, strong fundamentals, and high-level basketball IQ to elevate their performance at any level.

Ages

Our position-specific programs and camps are tailored for all athletes who are eager to refine their skills and enhance their game. Each program or camp may have specific age requirements. Some programs or camps may require a special evaluation to ensure that the participants have the appropriate skill level and readiness, but there are programs available for athletes of all ages.

When

Our programs run year-round with multiple start and stop dates throughout the season, while our camps are offered during holidays, school breaks, and summer sessions to give athletes additional opportunities to train and improve.

Where

All league and tournament play are located at our facilities.

Your club practices may be held at our facilities or other facilities. Please check with your club coach or manager.

Sessions

Programs typically run in 4-session packs, while camps range from 1–5 sessions, and both formats may take place within a single week or stretch across multiple weeks depending on the schedule. Read more in each session description for specific details.

What do I bring?

Age appropriate basketball, gym only basketball shoes, shorts, t-shirt, warm up gear optional, water and a post workout snack (usually a protein bar is sufficient).... and of course a positive ready to work attitude!

Jerseys

Camps and programs do not require jerseys, but many of them include or offer optional shirts or apparel that athletes can purchase or receive as part of their registration. These items are a great way to show program pride or just get some gear while training.

Personal Basketball - Boys 12+ use a size 7, Girls 12+ use a size 6, youth ages 9-11 use a size 6, youth ages 5-8 use a size 5.

Basketball Shoes - Court Only Shoes

Clothing - Shorts, T-Shirt, Warm ups are optional 

Eye Glasses - *If you or your athlete wears glasses, please provide athletic glasses and strap. We have seen far too many valuable glasses get broken*

Additional - We do not wrap, tape, splint or perform any "trainer" support during skills. Please prepare yourself or your athlete prior to attending. We do have training and recovery by appointment only. Please email us or ask the Director of Skills Development.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do your programs or camps start? There is no real start date on programs or camps, they are ongoing and start a different times. Once you purchase a program, you cannot cancel due to planning and set up.

What are the age divisions? We place kids in age and level appropriate groups when training.

When are training times posted? Once programs or camps are set, they will be emailed to you and posted on our calendars.

Do you provide trainers or someone else? Our approved staff trains all athletes to ensure consistency, responsibility and continuity for athletes.

How do I register my team or child for Compass Sports Performance programs or camps? Go to the programs tab on our website and click on basketball, then click the program you are interested in on the right side of the page. You can also look at other programs we offer in other sports, strength training and recovery.

What size basketball does my child need? Boys 12+ use a size 7, Girls 12+ use a size 6, youth ages 9-11 use a size 6, youth ages 5-8 use a size 5.

Do I have to be in a club to attend a program or camp? No, clubs are separate memberships and you should be a part of a club. If you are interested in a club, we can help you find the one that best fits you. We will provide you affiliate clubs to interview, YOU PICK!

Are tryouts required for club teams? It depends on the club teams, but most if not all have entry level and competitive.

Can we rent gym space? We do not "rent" space in our facilities, but we offer memberships to clubs and individuals. Please contact us for more information.

Do you also host tournaments? Yes, we host a variety of tournaments and camps throughout the year. Get on our mailing list by becoming a member or reach out to us.

What is the refund policy? All membership payments are non-refundable, as our staffing and scheduling are planned in advance to ensure a great experience for every athlete. If you need to make a change, simply provide a 30-day notice, and your membership will end the following month. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to provide consistent, high-quality training for all participants.

What if I lost something at one of your facilities? Please reach out to us and we will try to help you locate it, however do to the volume of items left behind we donate items after one week. Please remember your items!
